报告题目:Epigenetic Control of Stem or Progenitor Cell Homeostasis

Abstract:The ability of stem or progenitor cells to maintain cell homeostasis requires selective activation or silencing of specific transcription program, which could be achieved by epigenetically modulating the chromatin structure that packages eukaryotic genome. Here Dr. Zhou will discuss how epigenetic modifier Sirt1 is involved in cardiac progenitor cell lineage specification. Dr. Zhou will also talk about the role of histone methyltransferase Suv4-20h1 and PRMT5 regulating skeletal muscle stem cell quiescence and proliferation respectively. Future work will focus on coordinative regulation of stem cell homeostasis and aging by epigenetic and cellular metabolic mechanisms.
