Preston W. Estep博士在康奈尔大学获得神经科学学士学位,随后在哈佛大学攻读遗传学博士,师从哈佛大学遗传学教授、哈佛医学院基因组研究中心主任乔治•丘奇(George Church),并积极投身于“个人基因组计划”的研究工作,担任老年学研究负责人,主要负责与基因测序技术相关的事项,其研究内容主要集中在老年学研究领域,热衷于对抗心智衰退。
Preston W. Estep博士拥有多项与基因相关的技术发明,如基于转座子选择的DNA芯片数据输出技术和通用DNA蛋白结合芯片技术等。截止到2014年8月,对目标是完成对10万名志愿者的基因测序工作的“个人基因组计划”,已经有3500名志愿者加入了这一项目。除此,Preston W. Estep博士还是生命科学领域的连续创业家,并编著了著名的《长寿的基因》(Mindspan Diet)。
