报告人简介:
Prof. Fred Chang obtained his Ph.D. in Genetics, Biochemistry and M.D. in Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, CA. He did postdoc research under the mentorship of Paul Nurse and David Drubin. At Columbia Medical center in 1997 he started his laboratory and moved to UCSF in 2016.
Prof. Chang’s research is mostly focusing on the fundamental mechanisms of cell morphogenesis. His work mainly integrates physical biology with quantitative yeast cell biology and genetics.Work from his group is devoted tostudying the dynamics of cellular structures and molecules in living cells, mechanical forces, regulation of cell size and scaling relationships, and effects of size and shape on cellular processes. His lab has established many fields of study in fission yeast cell biology and has developed creative approaches to manipulate cellular parameters.
